Amal Clooney
Amal Clooney, who was born Amal Alamuddin in Lebanon is a Lebanese as well as British barrister, who has been an activist for human rights for many years. A graduate of Oxford University School of Law and New York University School of Law is internationally recognized for her career and achievements within the field of international human rights law. The clients she has worked with include the nation of Armenia that is fighting against the Turkish government to get acknowledgement and apology for the Armenian Genocide. Amal Clooney became engaged in 2014, and then was married in 2015 to American actor George Clooney. She instantly became a household word. Before this, she had established herself as a household name within the legal community in her ability to defend clients. It is her job to represent multinational firms during court hearings and discussions regarding government regulations, as well as human rights or social justice. Since 2015, she was a barrister at British court in Doughty Street Chambers.
